What To Expect At Your Appointments

Each appointment at Ridgefield PT is 40 minutes. We take pride in offering one-on-one appointments, meaning the entire visit is you and the Therapist. At the first visit the Therapist will go over your health history, the problem that brought you in, and establish a plan of care. As you continue your care, the plan and visits are tailored specifically to your progress and goals. No two people are the same which means no two treatment plans are the same.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that is not restrictive. If you have a lower extremity problem please wear shorts or pants that can be pulled above the knee. For back and upper extremity problems please wear either a tank or sports bra for women.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to have PT?  While the state of Washington practice law allows for direct access, a referral may still be required pursuant to corporate policies, personal insurance policies and/or other state practice setting laws. Also, some states have time limits on treatment without a referral.

What if I want to go to a different PT office than my Physician referred me to?

Washington State Law (RCW 19.68.010) requires that doctors who own their own PT clinic MUST supply you with a written list of alternative physical therapy offices and give you a choice where you receive your PT care. Remember: YOU choose who your Physical Therapist is, it is your right.

Is PT covered by my insurance?Physical Therapy is a covered service by most insurance plans. We will check your benefits before your visit and go over it with you before your evaluation or before you come in. While we do check your benefits as a curtsey, it is the patients responsibility to contact their insurance company and inquire about outpatient PT benefits at our office. The information given to Ridgefield PT, is not a guarantee of payment.
